Happy Rocktober!

Even though we're already half way in, what a sweet fortnight of music it has been so far! The beginning days brought national metal/hardcore band "Diecast", out of Boston, rolling into my town. A couple years ago, Diecast was totally burning up MTV2 and Headbanger's Ball on a regular basis... and, in true metal fashion, here they were, taking the stage at some dive bar down the street from me.

Comparatively speaking, metal isn't huge where I live, some 600 miles removed from the rock mecca of Boston. However, a handful of us local headbangers who got the word--perhaps 30 in all--laid down a ten buck cover charge to rock out up close and personal with Diecast that night. Rawr!

I stood at the front of the stage and took a hundred pictures, hoping for two or three good ones out of the deal. Click on my pic of Kirk above! I got a customized Diecast guitar pic for my collection. It was total awesomeness, of course!
